Is This Who We Have Become?
The other night I happened upon a 30-minute monologue on YouTube of conservative podcaster Joe Rogan ranting about the heinous actions of Donald Trump.
The AI video of Trump releasing excrement on NYC protesters was just too much for him. It was Diarrhea Don at his ugliest best.
I only recently learned that the person shown getting dumped on was activist Harry Sisson, who has millions of followers on social media and who was at the No Kings rally in New York City. Apparently, he has been put on Trump’s enemy list. It makes one wonder if even opponents of Trump like myself with little following are also being targeted.
It is, however, encouraging that someone like Rogan, a loyal MAGA supporter is turning against him as has MTG (Marjorie Taylor Green), who is calling for the release of the Epstein files. It’s a good sign that some of the MAGA faithful are seeing some light.
The careening economy, the rising prices, the alienation of our allies, the insults to our military and representatives at the UN, the gestapo tactics of ICE, the tax cuts to benefit the morbidly rich that take away the crumbs given to the poor, the pardons to criminals and the retribution against those who stand against him, the cuts to the EPA, FEMA, HHS, Department of Education, even air traffic controllers, all jobs that make us healthier and safer. How can they ignore this?
I myself am finding myself surrounded by darkness, the hopelessness of a nation gone wrong, of road rage murders and senseless shootings in my own county, of violent confrontations over trifles – when will it end? It’s taking a toll on my mental health.
From computer glitches to customer service ineptness to continual phone calls initiated by AI from healthcare salespersons, my world isn’t chaotic just because of him and others’ madness. It’s a world that is driving not only me but many others crazy.
People in my own family aren’t talking to me because of my hatred for Trump. But I can’t understand how anyone can support him.
I was walking into early voting tonight when I walked past a candidate surrounded by friends and asked him if he was a Trump supporter. And sure enough, his “Of course” response and affirmation by those around him triggered me. Idiots, I shouted. You are idiots! Surprisingly, it nearly led to a physical confrontation, as we came within inches of each other’s noses.
I couldn’t believe myself that I actually almost came to blows over Donald Trump with someone I had never met. It seems dumb that grown adults can get so hostile over their feelings about a politician.
But do his supporters realize how deeply Trump is hated? I have never hated anyone or felt this way towards anyone. Seeing all that is happening, seeing his outrageous rude and disrespectful behavior, seeing ICE brutalizing people and not giving them their constitutional rights, seeing him tear down the White House, seeing him make deals to illegally enrich himself with billions of dollars (the emoluments clause of the Constitution), seeing him pardon criminals, seeing him take vengeance on people who rightfully prosecuted him for his illegal activities, seeing his disgusting impudence during his press conference. How in God’s name can anyone support him?
What bothers me most is the lies and the fact that despite the continuous lies people still believe him? Why? Like this latest Truth Social post.
What’s worse, the NBA Players cheating at cards, and probably much else, or the Democrats cheating on Elections. The 2020 Presidential Election, being Rigged and Stolen, is a far bigger SCANDAL. Look what happened to our Country when a Crooked Moron became our “President!” We now know everything. I hope the DOJ pursues this with as much “gusto” as befitting the biggest SCANDAL in American history! If not, it will happen again, including the upcoming Midterms.

OMG, but what do you expect. He is, afterall, the GLOAT, the Greatest Liar of All Time.
And now he talks of running for President in 2028, something that is currently prohibited by law.
How could a man who has no compassion, who speaks of ill of everyone who doesn’t praise him attract so much support?
And how can anyone accept criminals like this working for ICE and doing Trump’s bidding? Does anyone find this video below of an ICE agent being stopped for DWI acceptable?
Maybe it’s more about how we feel about ourselves. Maybe those who support Trump feel they haven’t gotten their share of the American dream and he will give it back to them. Maybe those who don’t support him feel he is destroying the American dream that we have been trying to make a reality but so far have come up short.
Maybe we are all coming to terms with the fact that our nation was never all that, never the greatest of all time, never a place that we could be totally proud of, a place that claimed to be what it never really was, a place where soldiers died to preserve its self-righteousness.
Is this what the fighting is about? Is this what is bringing us closer to Civil War?
To me, it’s astonishing, shocking that people can support someone who represents everything that I was taught is reprehensible in a human being. Could it be they are just like him? This is perhaps the most depressing conclusion of all.
